Blues on Friday at St Harmonica's

We are very excited about this Friday 23rd October when we have another of our ‘double header’ evenings with two top drawer acts appearing on the same bill at St Harmonica’s. Two of the finest duos around playing Blues and Americana in the form of Tyzack & Tortora, Ben Tyzack with Guy Tortora, and ELRY Blue, Noel Gander with Gary Choules.

You really don’t want to miss this gig. The musicianship of both these acts is superb and their choice of material, both original and classic is a delight. ELRY Blue have rapidly established themselves as firm favourites with the St Harmonica’s crowd and beyond combining Noel Gander’s vocals and wonderful guitar work with the magic that bassist Gary Choules brings with his double bass, percussion and vocals.

With Tyzack & Tortora, if you take two leading musicians from two of the UK’s favourite bands, namely The Guy Tortora Band and The Spikedrivers, add an array of guitars, some fine harmonies plus a few musical surprises then you’re guaranteed a soulful, rootsy performance that will light up the stage. Their stellar guitar playing, evocative songwriting and on stage chemistry have seen audiences begging for more.

This is a real coup being able to put these two acts together on the same bill. ELRY Blue will play from 8.30pm with Tyzack & Tortora from 10.00pm. You’re advised to arrive early to get a seat for this show.

2026 Membership Cards are available on the door @ £10 for the year. You’ll need your monochrome 2026 membership card for admission from January onwards. Thereafter, throughout 2026, admission is FREE to card carrying members to all Friday Blues evenings and Sunday Jam nights. We just ask for a contribution into the hat to go towards the musicians’ costs.

Sunday 4th October
7.00pm - 10.00pm

It is the first Friday of the month so there is no Blues Club this Friday BUT it is ,of course, our monthly blues jam on Sunday 4th October starting at 7.00pm prompt.

The house band, will kick off proceedings followed by carefully assembled bands selected from the singers and players who turn up on the night, all under the watchful eyes of Vera and Terry Duggan; the results are often magnificent and always interesting.

Jammers:
Sign in on arrival, ideally before 7.00pm, with name and preferred instrument.
We'll supply the drums, keyboard, amps, PA, and DI box for the occasional acoustic instrument.
We will endeavour to swap or cover mics, if requested, but singers are welcome to bring their own.

Queensbury Jamming Rules apply:
⚹ the singer calls the tune, decides the key, and dishes out the solos;
⚹ players: please unpack your instrument, tune up and have everything ready before it's your turn to play;
⚹ solos are generally 2 verses long, unless the singer decides otherwise;
⚹ sets are 3 songs (unless we're running out of time, or your songs are 10 mins long);
⚹ if you aren't a drummer or keyboard player, bring your own instrument. Drummers, do bring your own sticks!

Audience members are also vital to the whole proceedings, and extremely welcome!

Admission is free to all with ’the hat’ offered around for donations.
