An absolutely blinding evening for you this Friday, 23rd May at St Harmonica’s when we once again put on two great bands on the same evening. The link between the bands is that they are both fronted by exceptional harmonica players.
The Groove Rats are led by Big Robin Nevill, who has performed in Chicago, and they will play their set of around 75mins starting at 8.30pm. The Groove Rats have entertained us previously at Broomfield Blues and at our Blues Jams and play rock solid classic blues.
And talking of classic blues they don’t come any more classic than the legendary Shakey Vick who has been blowing harp and singing the blues since the late 1950s. The Shakey Vick Blues Band will take the stage at 10.00pm to play the kind of British take on Rhythm and Blues that started in the sixties. Joined by ‘Professor’ Steve Taylor on keyboards and a stellar lineup Shakey Vick is absolute testament that age doesn’t prevent a great performance. His achievements and pedigree in the UK blues scene are endless and you can read some of it here:

Don’t miss this evening of solid entertainment and a chance to pay tribute to an elder statesman of British Blues.
